My project for the last few months was commissioned by a team of artist/paleontologists who do castings in bronze of various dinosaur skeletons. They had been hoping to branch out and make some plastic castings of their work and so they contacted me having heard that I have worked extensively with mold making and polyurethane and was not too far from their workshop. my first commission was of the Velociraptor pictured above.
The project has been incredibly interesting, I have always liked dinosaurs and Velociraptor is one of my favorites. The hope is that this piece will be sold to a museum as it is a casting of real dinosaur bones that were on loan from researchers in China.
Claws are always cool.
The skull is easily the best part.
